THIESEL 2006 — Diesel Engine Intake-Port Flow Stability
J. W. Campbell, G. Hardy and F. Personeni (2006) Diesel Engine Intake Port — Flow Stability and Application of CFD Using a Hybrid-Low-Reynolds Near Wall Method.THIESEL 2006 Conference on Thermo- and Fluid Dynamic Processes in Diesel Engines, Valencia, Spain.
This work investigated the limitations of conventional high-Reynolds-number wall-function CFD for diesel-engine intake ports, including numerical conservation of swirl, near-wall separation and the occurrence of inherently unsteady flow structures in nominally stationary intake-port calculations.
